FAQ's For Parties at Spirit's Party Barn
How do I book a party?
To book a Party you must fill out the Reservation Form on the "Birthday Parties" Page. You may also call us 253-466-4066 or on our Cell # 253-882-9431 but it may take a day or two to get back to you by phone. The easiest way is to fill out the appropriate Reservation Form and we will get back to you ASAP but usually within 1 - 2 business days.
Before making your deposit online make sure to check with a staff member your party date is available. Once the Minimum Deposit of $50 for Onsite Parties is received (by either clicking on the "Buy This" Button on the Online Reservation Form
or by mailing a check) and a staff member has contacted you to let you know that the date/time you are requesting is still available, you are guaranteed to be on our Calendar for that date and time.
What time can we Arrive to set up?
We do most of the set up for you but if you would like to arrive 15-20 minutes early to prepare your cake, etc. and finalize last minute details that is great with us! Earlier then 30 minutes interfears with the previous party. Please help us begin and end your party on the scheduled times so that we can be respectful and helpful to the next party scheduled.
What if it rains or the weather is bad?
Our Party Room is heated and we have a covered arena for the pony/horse rides, as well as the Petting Zoo. Except for Basic package, the Petting zoo is the only covered activity.
Who takes care of clean up?
We will take care of all the party clean up in the party room!
Do you have a refrigerator / freezer for either juice boxes or Ice Cream?
Yes we do have a referigerator and freezer in the party room you can use. We also have a knife and lighter if you forget.
PS. Juice Boxes work great for less spills and we can write their names on them with a sharpie. Please no red juice or pop if it is going to be poured in cups, it stains the natural wood flooring.
Can we feed the animals treats?
We do not allow feeding of our ponies or Petting Zoo animals.
How many rides on the pony will the children get?
Depending on your party size and what events you choose but typically they will get at least 2-4 rides each. If you select the Miniature Horse Cart rides then normally 2 kids can ride with one of our Staff members which gives them a little longer ride.
What will the kids be doing while waiting for their Pony/Horse ride?
Kids can bounce in our Bounce House with Slide, Visit the Petting Zoo animals again, play with roping the cow they learned previously, get a removeable tattoo or get back in line for the next pony ride.
What about party rules?
Close toed shoes required - preferrably tennis shoes or boots. We ask that none of the Petting Zoo animals are picked up. Our horses are very use to children, toys and decorations, etc however preparation is best. We will go over some safety rules before they are allowed in the Petting Zoo and are able to ride. Such as don't run up to the ponies - don't throw or swing objects around the animals - Keep loud noises to a minimum (no balloon popping games) Again I want to say - don't worry! We will be there to help with any questions you might have. Being safe is and having fun in the process is our top priority.
What about Hand Washing?
We require Hand Washing as soon as the kids/adults/staff are done with the Petting Zoo and activities this is before they sit down to eat any food, such as Cake, Pizza or Candy. No Food/Eating/Drinking anywhere around the Petting Zoo Activities!
What is the best age to have a pony party?
Typically - Any age from 4 to 16? However I know of some older Ladies that want to come and have a TEA PARTY at Spirit's Party Barn so we are open to ANYTHING! We can accomodate all ages and types of celebrations. We have horses to accomodate all ages/sizes. When you are filling in the questions for the Reservation Form - Please be sure to check the approx. age range of your party guests so we can make sure we have the right size pony/horse for your group.
What is the weight limit?
Depending on the ages of kids at your party, we have you determine this before we get there because we have several different size ponies/horses. Please fill out the age ranges and approx. weight ranges on the Reservation Form.
We normally don’t make an issue of it because it is for such a short time and if they are that much older generally they don’t want to be caught on the wrong size pony, so we have not found this to be an issue.
Are we able to bring our dog?
We do NOT allow dogs at Spirit's Party Barn. Please do not bring them and leave them in the car either. Spirit's Party Barn is located at a Stables and we have to be considerate to Stable Boarders as well. It is no fun for guests or boarders to hear a dog barking in a car. Thanks for your cooperation in advance.
What is the policy on tipping?
We strive to provide professional top quality service and memories that will forever be part of your family. If you feel our staff went above your expectations then tips are appreciated but not expected. Our business survives and grows from your referrals and feedback. Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your celebration.
